A-SMYLE Alumni Meet with the US Ambassador to Serbia

At the end of March, American Councils held the second A-SMYLE Alumni Night in the Belgrade office. American Ambassador to Serbia Cameron Munter came to meet and chat with the 27 alumni in attendance. The alumni came to Belgrade from different parts of Serbia for this unique opportunity to meet and speak directly with the Ambassador.
American Councils Inaugurates the 2008 ISLI Program

American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS has announced a new initiative, the Intensive Summer Language Institutes (ISLI), which will be held in Alexandria, Egypt (Arabic); Changchun, China (Chinese); and St. Petersburg, Russia (Russian). A total of 25 finalists have been selected from 17 states for the program.
First Annual American Councils Outbound Photo Contest

The results of the Outbound Department’s first photo contest are in! Join us in congratulating Kate White for her wonderful picture of Pskov, Russia. Ms. White, a junior at the University of South Carolina, is currently studying Russian in St. Petersburg, Russia as part of the Russian Language and Area Studies program.
