The 2024 Nominations to ACTR Office — President and Vice President are closed

As designated by the ACTR Rules of Governance (Bylaws), the elected officers of ACTR shall be President, Vice President, and Executive Director. According to the ACTR Articles of Governance (revised February 2023):
  • Candidates for President and Vice President of ACTR shall be recommended to the ACTR Board of Directors from among the members of the Board of Directors by a Nominations Committee appointed by the President of ACTR. The Nominations Committee shall present its recommendations to the Board of Directors at least fifty-six (56) days (eight [8] weeks) before the date of the Annual Meeting. The Board of Directors shall vote, and meet if necessary to discuss, the recommendations to decide on its nominees. The Board of Directors may ratify the recommendations of the Nominations Committee without change, or may modify the recommendations. The President shall forward the names of the Board’s nominees to the Secretary at least forty-two (42) days (six [6] weeks) before the date of the Annual Meeting.
  • Any group of five (5) active members of ACTR may nominate a candidate or candidates for President and/or Vice President of ACTR from among the members of the Board of Directors by forwarding to the Secretary of ACTR the name(s) of the nominee(s) at least forty-two (42) days (six [6] weeks) before the date of the Annual Meeting of the membership of ACTR. 
Candidates from both streams shall appear on a single ballot to be voted on by the general membership. All candidates should familiarize themselves with the Officer Candidacy Rubric.

NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTED OFFICE THROUGH THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATION COMMITTEE
 
  • Current Board members who want to nominate themselves or another Board member for the office of President or Vice President should notify the chair of the nominations committee [email protected] no later than November 30, 2023. No additional letters of support are required when nominating a current Board member. Should you wish to offer a letter of support, upload it to the Officer Letter of Support Link.
  • Once the chair of the Nominations Committee has certified that the nominee accepts the nomination, the nominee will be asked to fill out the Officer Candidate Form and upload any supplementary materials. The candidate form must be completed and supplementary materials uploaded no later than November 30, 2023.

"OPEN NOMINATIONS" BY THE ACTR GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
Five or more members of the general membership may nominate a candidate for the offices of President and/or Vice President from among the members of the Board of Directors by submitting a joint or individual letters of support for their chosen candidate to the Secretary of ACTR.

  • Before nominating a candidate, please contact that person and, if they agree to be nominated, send an email to the Secretary of ACTR ([email protected]) that includes your nominee as copied (to certify their agreement to be nominated), and ask them to fill out the Officer candidate form and to upload any supplementary materials, as instructed, no later than December 28, 2023.
  • Five (5) letters of support from ACTR active members in good standing are required for all nominations from the general membership, including (if relevant) that of the original nominator.  Letters need not be lengthy, but should speak to the the candidate's strengths relevant to the Officer Candidacy Rubric adopted by the Board of Directors at its October 21, 2023 meeting. Those writing in support of a nominee from the general membership may ask their candidate to provide them with at least a draft of their candidate form. Letters of support should be uploaded no later than December 28, 2023 to the Officer Letter of Support Link.
