We hope that this Lounge can help to foster dialogue between pre-college and college instructors on issues related to language program articulation and placement methods that best support recruitment, retention, and successful program articulation. 

We offer the following guiding questions for this Lounge:

• What placement mechanisms are being used at the college level and how successful are they in both accurately placing and retaining students?

• What challenges have people found in working with students who come in with prior experience learning Russian?

• What can pre-college teachers do in our classrooms to make sure our students are best prepared to find success in college-level language classes? 

• What have pre-college teachers heard from alumni about their difficulties adapting to college Russian courses?
