Join us for a roundtable on arts-based pedagogies, which invites Russian language instructors to consider how art making and language learning complement each other. Current scholarship on art and creativity in the classroom recognizes the fatigue teachers and students are experiencing from the excessive use and presence of AI in the classroom. Participants will cover a range of arts-based approaches for the Russian language classroom, including hands-on traditional crafts, museum visits, theatrical stagings, and exploration of a variety of visual arts genres.
The roundtable will include presentations from:
Ekaterina Arshavskaya, Utah State University
Emil Asanov, Florida State University
Tatiana Derugo, Brookdale Community College
and will be facilitated by Mollie Messick, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
